Crime and Punishments in Late Imperial China Flickr Project

From Fall 2010 to Summer 2011, I worked with my colleagues, Yuan Zeng (East Asian Studies, Anthropology, and Political Science Librarian) and Heidi Herr (Philosophy Librarian and Outreach Coordinator for Special Collections) to launch a Flickr project focusing on the topic of Crime and Punishments in Late Imperial China (focusing on books published before 1900). We selected images/ illustrations from the Special Collections and digitized them to support the research and instruction needs of our faculty and students. The collection is available for public access on our Flickr page. A short essay and a brief bibliography with additional primary and secondary resources have are available for the project. These will be helpful for researchers who wish to consult other research materials on the subject of crime and punishments in China. An additional flash site is also available for viewing.
